The comparison is no insult, only bogus. Your points demonstrate the
fallacy of the metaphor. 

Although, there is something to a pro baseball world and comparisons
between certain AT and baseball personalities. For instance, John
Rocker and WF. He only goes in when the team is ahead, blows the lead,
blames the team for the loss, and brags he was the most important
factor in a winning season.
