The Trailplace book has never been availble for download or for free.
The Appalachian Trail Thru Hiker's Companion, published by the Appalachian
Long Distance Hikers Association (ALDHA) and available through the
Appalachian Trail Conference (ATC), is online in a free downloadable version.

Trailplace and the so-called "Center for AT Studies" are run by one person.
