Well, it probably won't compact very well even in a compression bag.
About the only way you will get an good answer is to take the
combination bivy/bag and try to smash it into progressively smaller
bags. I'd suggest going cheap (as the bivy itself should keep
everything dry) and grab a few mesh bags from the local produce market
or seed & feed store. Then put it in a large trash bag or compactor bag
to keep everything else in your pack dry.
The Vidalia onions are in, and lots of bags are available around here.
