     If you read the lightning articles in National Geographic from a few 
years back you will see that lightning ion "leaders" from the ground form 
almost at random, but do prefer the highest point more often than not. A 
leader will form off a non-metalic structure right next to a metal one, so 
the cause is more likely the greatest point of ground ion accumulation than 
metal seeking. In regard to this, I would say that metal rimmed glasses would 
be unlikely to attract a lightning bolt by themselves.
