[at-l] ATC land acquisition

Regardingthe ATC land acquisition program mentioned in Tuedsay's 
digest here's the scoop:
ATC's  Land Trust Conservation Buyers program, has a listing of 
properties abutting the Corridor that are for sale.  Some are zoned 
for residential, some never will be.  The idea is for Trail-savvy 
people to purchase the land (or Conservation Rights to the land)  and 
put part or all of it into conservation easements that will restrict 
the kind of use that can be made of the land in the future.  This is 
an excellent program, though the cost of this land is well beyond my 
present means, perhaps once the kids are out of college and on their 
own it might be feasible.  The Program also maintains a list of 
prospective buyers, so you can enter your preferred location and 
price range, and they will notify you if a parcel becomes available.
