Maybe so, but in my college days Dead Kennedys was always
blasting from the tape player of my pinstriped, orange 1973
Super Beetle whenever I drove to the trailhead. To this day,
listening to "Plastic Surgery Disasters" reminds me of
backpacking in western Maine. Since I hiked alone in those
days, it had the added bonus of helping to keep rancid,
hummable pop tunes from otherwise getting lodged in my head.

Dead Kennedys was early 80s punk at its finest. Their wit
and vitriolic delivery more than make up for any shortcomings.
