Maybe we all need to go take a long hike to put things back in perspective.

While agree with the some of the points of your message, I find the tone and spirit to be as offensive as the Dan Bruce Bashing which has taken place on this list.  

There is something about the anonymity of email that allow people to discuss matters in terms they would never consider in face to face communication. 

Making broad sided attacks against people and organizations is something best done with a close confidant, not in a public email forum.  Since this list is archived and indexed by date, the statements made can be verified.  (One great thing about spoken communication is one can deny something was said or say it was misinterpreted if it isn't on tape...comments about Ross Perot deleted...)  Search engines can recall email which would have been forgotten long ago if spoken.

As a counter point, there is always the trash bin for rants and raves I don't care to hear. (Cell-phones come to mind.)

I have some concerns about how Dan controls topics and dialog on his site and list, so I found another forum that better suits my tastes.  I appreciate Dan's choice not to attempt to defend his views in all forums.
