[at-l] summer bag thoughts

Hi, hikers!

I have about decided to buy the L.L. Bean $95, 1 lb. 14 oz. 40* bag for a summer bag.  It says that includes a 3 oz. stuff sack.  I am thinking I can put the bag in a trash bag and ditch the stuff sack, which should bring it down to about 37*.  Make sense?

This will be my first bag purchase (but I have used borrowed bags, and mummy is fine) and my main criteria is probably price, followed by weight.

Any caveats?
