Reading this thread reminded me of some amusing incidents on the trail.
Most of us hiked alone all day, and then met up at the shelters at night.
After spending the day with your brain running at "stream of consciousness"
speed,  trying to have a conversation could be difficult at times, not to
say amusing - listening to other hikers changing topics, literally in the
middle of a sentence, and knowing that you were doing exactly the same
thing... but at least everyone knew what was going on <g>. (the effect, not
the conversation... <lol>)
