Vcat,
I've had many colds while on the trail. At home I usually go to bed for
three or four days. On the trail, I guess because of the tremendous
physical effort, I get over a cold completely in 3-4 days. I think it may
have something to do with the metabolism being in high gear. Sweating it
out.
I never had the flu when hiking. That is a cold of a different sort.

Several folks have talked about colds recently, and I've just spent eight
days with a cold. For four of them, I was racked with fever and feeling that
a walk from the bed to the bathroom and back was all I could handle.
So what do folks do when this happens on the trail?
