Yeah me too, it was not in my hands but for a few hours before I was at the
REI web site , Lord please forgive me for my material indiscretions, but I
really, really needed this, yeah right he'll believe this-NOT :)
Ya'll have converted me, well not completely. With all the talk about
Photons, which my Dad has on his key chain and I have looked at and after
taking it into the closet and turning it on decided that my blind butt
would be just as well off with no light at all and decided that it was not
for me.
That was until I met a fella out on the trail with the Petzel Tikka, now
that was something that could work for me, its bright enough and surely
weighs less than my old Micro. So that is what I ordered and it arrived
today! Sure is a neat little gadget, but have one question, that is in the
multi, multi language one page manual that comes with it, when it refers to
the life of the lamps lasting a lifetime of several years continuous use
and no longer needing to replace bulbs, does this mean in what ever time
frame this equates to, you just simply throw it away?
Another thing I noticed was the offer of the accessories, red and green
lenses, this sure put my mind at ease, knowing I could order a red lens,
thus denying a sniper a lucky long distant shot, something I always worry
about out on the AT at night :))
