[at-l] Packs, What we Like

Yes, twice! Full packs over Baldy! The guys LOVED it, having lunch on top
of Baldy and being the topic of discussion among all the other "Day Hikers"
up there.

My first and current pack is a 1970's vintage Kelty Tioga. It has well over
7000 trail miles on it. This pack has a definite warm place in my heart.
Actually I have two Tiogas. While on an extended backpack trip, the first
started fraying at some of the seams. Kelty sent a replacement, asking that
I return the old one when the replacement arrived. I did. About a month
later, while still hiking, the original arrived in a mail drop, completely
repaired ( yes if you ask me, Kelty is GREAT).

Both are still going strong, but I would probably buy a new one for
anything more than a two week trip now. The nylon is pretty deteriorated
from so much sun. Besides, they deserve a rest.
