Well, there are Kachinas that are clowns, but their place in the Hopi culture
is what
many outsiders would classify as religious. In the bean dance, Mother Crow
returns with sprouted beans to signify spring. It seemed a bit early to me
this year.
It was around 20*, the winds were whipping across the mesa, and we were
staggering across rutted icepack. And yes, this freezing climate princess was

squeezing several large muscles together--and wishing for more... ;->
