[at-l] RE: Noreaster



What are ice dams?  Here in Southern VA, where the church people tell us
that we never have bad winters (except, of course, for last winter, when
they had an 18" snowfall), many people have tin roofs and they all have
"snow birds" around the edges of them.  They're all over my house.  That's
supposed to keep the non-existent ice from sloughing off onto the bushes
(and/or people) below.  So far, we've had only a dusting of snow this
winter.  But nobody's mentioned ice dams.  We didn't have them in IN,
