SUV's ... was [at-l] political activism

T writes >> I wish the libs out there would get off of this SUV kick. There
is
nothing wrong with these vehicles. I own one and LOVE it. It is
solid, and, safe; if I have an accident, I feel 30 times safer than my
old sports car. if I want to drive onto the fields of my farm I can,
in any weather. if the roads are wet & icy, the 4wd is wonderful! If
you feel threatened by the mass of this vehicle, then buy a larger
car. what's next? bans on 18 wheelers?

it is NOT a gas hog!!!!!!! and DOES NOT waste energy. mine gets 20
miles per gallon!!! it does not pollute the environment one bit.
what really bothers me is I worked damn hard for this vehicle. I
saved my money; I drove an old "paid for" clunker for 15 yrs. What
business is it of ANYONE'S how I choose to spend MY money.<<

Why are you so paranoid about what someone else says? Do you hate liberals
that much? Surely you've got better things to do with your time and anger.

I'm a fairly liberal person and I own and SUV. I have for the last 12 years.
Like yours, mine also gets 20 MPH, or at least it did. Works great in off
road and snow conditions.

But I'm also not trying to fool myself into believing it's not a gas guzzler
and doesn't pollute the environment. I'm willing to take responsibility for
my actions and acknowledge their potential damage to the environment. I can
only really continue to justify my vehicle because I'm lucky enough to work
at home and it only gets driven a couple of times a week. If I needed to
commute any distance on a daily basis, I'd get something less
environmentally damaging.

Personally I don't give a damn if you drive your SUV or not. I just wish
you'd recognize that your actions have consequences. Burying your head in
the sand doesn't make the problems go away!
