Well, they do require batteries, but they run a long time on one set. LOTS
longer than your headlamp will, even with one of the new LED bulbs. Okay,
maybe that is stretching it a little, but the batteries in most PDAs do last
a long time.

As far as fragility goes...they make this nice case for the Palm Pilot...out
of Titanium.
