Back when i had less experience in gear I purchased a tent with fiberglass 
poles.  I've used the tent for the last 8 years.  The poles are heavy and 
they split.  I have added duct tape to the poles to hold them together.  
Aluminum is much more durable and lighter.  Stick with metal poles.
