QUADRANTIDS: One of the most intense annual meteor
showers, the Quadrantids, will peak over North America on
January 3, 2001. Observers in western parts of Canada, the USA
and Mexico are favored to see an impressive flurry of shooting
stars. [full=20

Thank you Kahley7. Friday night, January 5, look towards the Southeast as=20
the moon rises in the waxing gibbous phase; meaning that it will be more tha=
n=20
half full, but less than full. There will be two "star" like figures in=20
close proximity. These are really the planets of Jupiter, the brighter of th=
e=20
two objects, and Saturn, the fainter. Just after the sun sets, look=20
southwest, you will be able to see Venus, too. What a celestial encounter!
