Re: [at-l] Gear List

Thanks for the comments everyone! I have added a few
notes below. I really appreciate all the comments,
they are VERY helpful and have started a lot of
discussion between us.

I checked out this site. I have heard of these stoves
before but have never seen one in action. Maybe this
is a good Christmas Break activity. We already have
the Dragonfly and will most likely start with it - but
I am open to trying these stoves. I assume the
alcohol is available all along the trail? How do you
manage to simmer with these stoves (this is the
feature I really like about the df), it looks like it
only has one flame setting (high/on). Maybe use some
foil or something??? help me :) Hopefully some of
theses stoves will be at the RUCK.

I was thinking along the same lines as Belcher. The
Thru-hiker handbook is smaller than the Companion, and
I can write all sorts of notes and reminders in it.

I was thinking the 2nd pair could be worn in laundry,
and as a dry camp pair. I could use jogging type
quick drying shorts that are super light (I would
guess they are less than 5 oz, will weigh at home)

OKAY! I think I have been convinced to trim down to 1
t-shirt, one long-john top, and I could just wear my
sports bra as a top in the warm months (or go the
belcher dress route - I like that idea :) )
