Yeah, way to go. And this from an occasional mountain biker here, but on
legal trails.
Question: what should be the proper response to encountering a herd of
bikers on the AT? Probably just nothing, I guess, esp if you're
alone. Just a matter of having a precomputed strategy instead of reacting
by surprise when it happens.
Fer instance, when I have a hefty "walking stick", I know exactly what I'm
going to do if a set of vicious teeth (dog teeth) come after me while I'm
on the trail or a road walk. Situation is a bit different when dealing
with a mtn biker...
Actually, I think I'd just stay in the middle of the trail, wherever I had
been, prior to the mtn bike encounter. Let them figure how to get
around. Might be a bit challenging, depending...
