[at-l] GA Ruck is on!

I went to Neel Gap and Goose Creek Campground today. There is
absolutely no one else expected to use Goose Creek that weekend. It is
a facility for the RUCKsters. It is time for those intending to RUCK to
call Goose Creek and make some reservations. Of course, I've mislaid
the phone number! :-( I've reserved Cabin #7 with the big bed. There
is probably room for upwards of 50 folks in cabin, and more in area or
camping.

Of some interest, Walasi-Yi is in transition from the Hansens' to new
managment. They expected the hand over to occur Jan 1, 2001, but
learned it will be end of Jan. The potential problem is that:
  1)Inventory is down since they are short timers;
2)They may try to slow down pre-season inventory; and
3)They will have to close 1-2 days to complete an inventory to
complete the business dealings.

So, the Walasi-Yi side trip might be a bit more complicated than
expected. Of course, I've invited them and alerted them to our RUCK.

And on another note, while at Walasi-Yi, a somewhat malfragrant Mr. Zip
popped in on his flip-flop out of Perrisburg. I took him down to Goose
Creek for the night and chatted a bit, especially after Sally the Gear
Eating Dog barked at him and his stick. He saw Tuba Man a while back,
saw the tuba alone in a shelter (which one?) and understood the tuba
and the man got seperated for unknown reasons. So, I don't know what
the tuba story is, but it sounds like there is some dramatic tension
developing.
