[at-l] Photos of barefoot hikers

Hi Y'all,
Now that I'm back from my 2000 Thru-Hike Which Did Not Want To End, I'll
risk delurking at least long enough to post a link to a couple photos of
Isis and Jack Rabbit, the two sisters who've been thru-hiking barefooted.

I met them the morning of 7/29/00 as I was leaving Lake of the Clouds
hut at the foot of Mt. Washington. They had just come down the mtn and
were headed southward from there. It was a cold, wet windy day, not the
kind of morning you'd generally like to be out barefooted.

I've attached two photos to my journal entries for that day and the
next. The first shows the two girls, and hopefully you can reach it via
this link:

That's my entry for 7/28/00. From there you can hit Next which will take
you to 7/29/00. Here there's a closeup photo of their feet. Click on
this photo and it will enlarge to about 5x8. These are some pretty
gnarly feet!

When I asked them if they'd been hiking like this for very long, they
replied "300 miles so far". By now of course they've come over 1200
miles. Reckon those are some cold tootsies these days. Surely they've
hit snow by now.

Anyway, thought everyone might like to see an illustration of the
bootless phenoms. And if there're any left, please pass me a smashmellow.
