if you start at newfound gap, it's only about 32 miles. (and ALL
downhill)
if you start at alum cave trailhead, it's 40. with a 5 mile uphill to
start.
both require a shuttle. I've called the "walk in the woods" folks.
nice people & they seem better equipped than mtn. Mamas. But MM's
will save you a few bucks and will probably let you park in their lot.
