Re: [at-l] Hennessy hammock?

I bought one Sunday at REI in Atlanta for $65 on their sale table. They are
discussing this out the wahzoo on an Egroups list for backpacking gear
testing, trying out a new model designed for colder weather. David Addleton
uses a hammock in his hiking, and I really liked the idea of being free to
select a campsite without regard for how level the ground it. The key idea
is to perfect a way of attaching to trees without damaging bark or dropping
on one's pride in the middle of the night.

While there are some hoop tents on sale for less at Wallyworld, $65 for a
2.5 pound shelter seems like a real bargain. I'll have to find a way to get
one of my daughters to claim to have purchased it for me and get it under
the tree before Mrs. Bug finds the receipt!

BTW, welcome to the firering. Sloetoe, throw this guy a smashmellow.
