That's why it is important for everyone to contact the FTA office a minimum
of 30 days ahead of their hike.  Since things are fluid on the FT the FTA
office always has the latest info.  Plus the FTA is putting together a
thru-hiker inquiry packet should answer most hiker questions and a
thru-hiker data packet which will include maps, membership and thru-hiker
guide book for one price.
