[at-l] How Cold can it get on the AT in the South?

I was looking for some data and discovered that the all time record Lowest
Temperature for the State of Virginia was -30ºF on January 21, 1985 at
Mountain Lake Biological Station, which a bit west of Blacksburg and within
a mile or less of the AT.
