Re: [at-l] Water in VA

Patch,

I expect there is still plenty of water along the way. You shouldn't
have to carry more than a liter during the day. I may hike Tye river
north to Rockfish and back this weekend. I'll let you know what I find
there.
After Pettites gap, Marble Spring is reliable, Big Creek gets real
small in dry season, Matts Creek reliable, water at Johns Hollow,
Punchbowl shelter, then just other side of BRParkway crossing is a sign
post with missing sign, spring is to right 25 yards, another spring
before reaching the creek at Peddler Dam, Brown Mnt creek reliable and
runs along trail a long ways either side and in front of Brown Mnt
shelter, good water at Cow Camp Gap shelter .5 miles east or make it to
Hog Camp Gap spring is 150 yards to right from spring sign in middle of
field in front of Tar Jacket Mnt., Greasy Springs branch, then a great
spring at Sealy Woodworth, next water Priest Shelter (pin worm spring
better treat this one), Cripple Creek, Tye River.
October 15 Mrs. Gorp and I completed Tye River to Black horse gap, none
of the water mentioned above showed signs of running out.
