[at-l] Esbit help

Hi All--I hope somebody can give me some advice on the Esbit. I have never 
gotten it to boil water. For a while I thought I had too much water, but I 
went with just a pint last time and used a whole tab. Got fairly hot, but no 
boil.

Went on a hike with a friend who took her Esbit. She tried twice to use it. 
Never got a boil.

I know some of you have done great with them, using just a partial tab.

Could the tabs be bad?
