Got the new ATN.  Finally!  Rhymin' Worm, it came directly to me, thank you.
Felix, your piece was Right On.  <G>  But his article reminded me of
something I've been meaning to ask.

Did any of you notice the Sept. picture on the AT calendar?  It showed a man
walking away from the camera with an external frame pack on.  What bothered
me was that there was nothing on either the top or the bottom extensions of
the pack, like no sleeping bag nor pad nor tent, none of the things that we
usually tie there.  Nothing.  Just empty extensions.  What was that all
about?

And did any of you notice the ad for Hiking Partners Wanted in the new ATN?
One Jay Studley, now think about that name for a minute, is looking for a
hiking partner of the opposite sex.  Is this for real?  It's not April 1, is
it?  Actually, he says that he's leaving Springer April 1.  Maybe that's it,
an early April Fool's joke.
