Without being a lawyer and without having all the facts in the case, it sure
sounds like you were the victim of bad state law (not ED itself, but the
rules that come with it), bad judge, and bad lawyer. These are the kind of
problem that your local legislator might take on. It is also what the
appeals system is for. Unfortunately that is expensive with no promise of a
better outcome. However there are groups that will help fight particularly
clearcut cases.
