[at-l] Stoves

Years ago I used a sterno stove to heat baby food while we were traveling
through Switzerland and France.  Does anyone use sterno to backpack with.
 As I remember, the cans were small and very light weight and the "stove"
itself was really just a wind bearer with a grate over it.  Can you get
sterno along the trail?  What is your learned opinion on this subject? 
Anyone?
