[at-l] Special Day on the A.T. in VA

I hiked/ ran the Lovingston Springs from near the Greasy Springs Road to
Spy Rock. I maintain the Lovingston Springs Trail which is the old A.T.
I cleared and cut bushes and trees today. I then ran back on the A.T.
It was very nice and cool today. The view from Spy Rock was spectacular.
I could see the Priest, Three Ridges, Wintergreen, the open fields of
Cold Mountain, Wolf Rocks, and many other mountains.

The view from Wolf Rocks was also very good. On top of Sp;y rock there
was several little pools of water and in one pool there was 100's of
little tadpoles!!!!!!! How did they get there????

The 5 mile loop, just down from Hog Camp Gap, which also goes over MT.
Pompey and near the summit of Mt. Pleasant, was also very pretty today as
well.

We hold a 50 mile footrace, the Mountain Masochist Trail Run, on October
21st in the same area, not on the A.T.
The runners come from 25 to 30 states and just love the mountains in this
area.

See you on the trails
