Re: [at-l] getting storm damage cleared

Clearing storm damage, down trees, limbs, etc. is one of the big jobs of
a trail volunteer maintainer. I was out on a nice February day, hiking
around in the snow with my little bow saw clearing my section of the
AT. It was really a lot of fun. For larger downfalls, we call in a
chain saw crew. The poster is correct, most of this type of work is
handled by volunteers who love trails and hiking and just getting out
and paying back a little!
(speaking of payback: hope everyone is writing their letters to Secty
Babbitt; other folks have posted the email address, write me if you need
it).
   Happy trails!
