I recently made an  alcohol stove from  2 pepsi cans. It takes about 3 tbsp.
of alcohol to boil a cup of water, enough for 1 lipton. So you can really
carry a lot of extra fuel and still be light. The stove weighs 2 oz. If you
are interested in directions check out the PCT journal site www.pcthiker.com
you have to look around a liitle bit but the directions are there.
