In reading the article it finally dawned on me that the issue is not whether
the trail will be protected but how much protection it gets.

The NPS isn't going to make any friends with this action and I personally
hope that for  everyone's sake they find a way to end this, and quickly.

In hiking there is no special recognition given for speed, style or
finesse. There are only those that do the hike and those that don't.
