We used to have a friend named George in Mississippi.  Of course, it was
pronounced Jaw-adge.  He called it the Silent R.  Our youngest daughter is
named Sarah Magdalen.  Early on, we tried calling her Sarah, but, in MS,
they called her Saira.  That went along with all the Mairys that lived
there, too.  We gave up in favor of Maggie.  :^)  Leslie
