Disclaimer: Operating the Photon web site does make me a little biased, but
FWIW here's my impression of the PocketBright.
So far everything I've heard has been pretty bad. I bought one myself and was
not very impressed. It's 3 or 4 times bulkier than the Photon II and emits an
aura of 'cheapness' when held in your hand. The only thing it has going for it
is the longer battery life & the push-on, push-off type on/off switch. It's
close, but not quite as bright as a white Photon II. The battery compartment
screws off, making it fairly easy to change the batteries, but after opening it
the first time with a nickel, the plastic is already a little chewed up from
the edges of the coin. The light has a 5 year limited warrante, but you have
to make sure you send in the warranty card. As for the claim of "waterproof to
1 foot", that doesn't sound very waterproof to me. Likewise for the
"Shockproof to 4 feet" claim.
My advice, stick with the Photons.
There have also been a couple of recent posts on the Photon discussion board
about the PocketBright. Visit http://www.photonlight.com/forum/
