No, I am not suggesting that there is a problem with having good public 
health and sanitation. The issue is whether the law of unintended 
consequences extends into excellent public health, as well as politics, 
economics, science, and other endeavors.

This is now far from trail related, but those interested might enjoy 
reading up on the controversies surrounding the disposition of small pox 
virus, whether small pox vaccines should be produced, and items related to 
terrorism based on biological weapons. While you are at it, watch out for 
dead birds until we know where the Blue Nile virus has landed.
