First, sounds like dehydration more than stamina to me. I don't know how
much water you were consuming, not just carrying cause that does mean
anything, but really consuming. To stay hydrated you need to be running
some really bad miles per gallon this time of year. May kick up some dust
here, but diluted gateraid is okay for flavor and variety, however water's
wetter.
On the sweat/deet thing, I've got a couple three suggestions for you cause
as a contact lense wearer this is a big one for me. Roll up a bandana, wear
it as a sweat band across forehead just above eyebrows. Will really slow
the sweat rivers. Cutter makes a stick form of their product that looks and
behaves like an oversized chapstick. Allows me to spread insect repellant
in sparing way. Back of neck, behind knees, elbows, lots of places to avoid
eyes, mouth and hands. Wrap aroundish sunglasses, good ones that block UV,
are also great for gnat protection. I like the yellowish lense color better
that the dark gray, cause I don't see an apparent light level drop.
Skippie...who gets to play in the woods next weekend
