Dorothy says that the spring at the shelter near Bird Gap is almost dry.
There is a stream at Dan Gap, I think it's called. the old Miller Gap. No
water til you hit Jarrard Gap and MAYBE Slaughter will be trickling, but you
may have to go downhill to hunt for it.

I took 3 gallons of water to Hog Pen Gap yesterday, wasn't it? And there
was ONE gallon jug missing and 1/2 gallon left in the other two.

Went to the store and got more jugs and put notes on them for packers to
take just what they need to get to the next water source, told them where it
is, and to check the spring (aka walk 500 feet sloping down hill, not steep
at all).

Saw a TRUCK load of young men-- 8 of them -- guess that many could empty my
4 gallons without thinking about it.

I'm unbalancing nature for sure.

Getting dark, gotta go place the water,
