Trail Days is a celebration that the town of Damascus, VA puts on annually 
for the hikers as they are near their peak on the Northbound cycle. This 
seems to be one of the more popular and better known hiker celebrations, 
along with the Gathering during the Fall

A Ruck is a gathering of the usual suspects. The major Ruck (Ruckus 
Majoris) is usually on the weekend of SuperBowl, in that there have been 3 
or 4 of them. Mini-Rucks occur almost at random when someone announces they 
will be traveling or camping somewhere, and invites other hikers of equally 
poor repute to join them. I've been to 2 mini-Rucks in North Georgia, and 
each were great excuses for a trip away from town. (as if one needs an excuse)
