rei is made by komptrells or however you spell it and the carbide tips are
not replacesable (to the best of my knoledge)..  i personally dont like the
shock absorbing thing in lekis (but i own makalus anyway) newer makalus have
a  shock on off mechinism for up and down hlls.  i wonder if i can get the
new mechanism in my poles hmmmm. or better yet ones with out shock aborbers
at all.

i woudl get lekis unless REI carbide tips can be replaced.
