The first behavior is pretty typical, especially in these cold morning - hot
afternoon Spring days.  There is an area of trees in the upper Chickahominy
River swamp (redundancy there if you know the area) north of Richmond next
to I295 where turkey vultures sit way up in the dead trees, face west and
spread their wings to catch the warmth of the morning sun on chilly
mornings.  Has me believing that birds evolved from dinosaurs...
