Can't believe Wildbill hasn't already done this.
The Cumberland Trail does/will go from Cumberland Gap NP Ky to Signal Mtn TN 
(Chattanooga) Been lots of discussion about it lately. I've seen articles in 
Backpacker, American Hiker, a Rails To Trails Pub etc.
