Re: [at-l] Tell me a story...

I saw Baltimore Jack at Stecoah Gap. He told me a funny story about
staying in a shelter that was full of weekenders and one of the thru
hikers being very obnoxious about their presence. At this shelter, there
was two hardbound Bibles. One of the other thru hikers decided the grump
needed some sweetness added to his unbrotherly love type spirit. So,
while he was off getting water, they hide the Bible in the bottom of his
pack and then left before he returned from the spring.

At the next shelter, the grump was lamenting about how heavy his pack was
and how hard the day had been. Everyone held their snickers and giggles
in as best they could. As the evening wore on, they wondered why he said
nothing about his extra load for that day. They began to talk about
anything that could pass as a hint about the Bible. The grump asked if
they had all been saved that day. At long last someone asked if he found
the Bible. It was not in his pack. One of the poor weekenders was
carrying it!! Hopeful
