	The very western edge of Mass/Ct and Eastern NY carries the 
Taconic Crest Trail (mostly blazed in white, interestingly enough) 
north up the Taconic Range to S. Vermont.  There a <10 miles roadwalk 
east would put you back on the AT/LT.  The NY/NJ trail book has the 
full info on the TCT.  The trail is mostly jeep road (particularly in 
the northern regions) and not particularly well maintained, but does 
have some great views into the valleys on either side.  Few developed 
campsites, and of course, no shelters.
