No wisdom on the dates, but the reason you don't want to do a flipper is
because you suspect the blatent glory of hiking north with springsummerfall,
and the subtle glory of hiking summerfallwinter, and watching it unfold in
the continuous fashion which a geographically contiguous throughhike affords.
The seasons, the geography, the history, even the accents on the residents,
all unfold to the patient hiker........

Hinting at an essay someday....
