[at-l] Calendar triple crown

Now that I've delurked enough times to get noticed, it's time for an
introduction.

My name is Brian Robinson and I'm a thru-hiker. (This IS a thru-hikers
anonymous meeting, right? ;-) I've never set foot on the AT, but this list
is helping me prepare for a winter attempt starting January 1st, after which
I'll switch to the PCT and finish on the CDT, hopefully before December
31st. I believe it's possible. (Do you?)

I thru-hiked the PCT in '97, and redid the northernmost 800 miles in '99,
the deepest snow year ever. I teach winter snow camping in the Sierra; I'm
an ultra runner, having just completed my first 50 miler, and I'm an expert
at ultralight packing. I'm 38, single, have the time and energy to commit
to this adventure and I'm not afraid to fail.

I live in San Jose, California and love how the people on this list share
their dreams. This is mine.

Brian

PS I'd like to start a discussion about this. Who thinks it's impossible?
Why? Who has suggestions for how it should be done? Does "hike your own
hike" apply here? If not, what guidelines should apply to the attempt?

Have you introduced yourself to the list yet? :) You need not use that form

- just name, place, and how much you love this list will do <g>.
