Yet another advantage a section hiker has over a thru-hiker: I get to read up on the section in progress both before and after I hike it. I especially like to go through my Rodale and just re-read each entrant's hike of my current section (although it is getting dated, many sections have been relo'd.)
God bless Mr. Chew - I have gotten more enjoyment out of that book - one of my more felicitous buys.
