Used a 1 pound fleece blanket ($15) pinned to a 2oz bag liner ($5) to construct a 1.125 lb. sleeping bag which, mated to a 100 weight fleece vest, kept me comfy to 55* or so inside a bivy in sharp blowing wind atop Max Patch in early September. Yeah, p, "why you say these don't work?"
